Greetings
from
Adventures in Travel Expo:
I hope this email finds you all in
good health and that your business is
seeing what appears to be a strong
start of the New Year!
On our side we are all just back
from Adventures in Travel Expo New
York.
What a great
Show!!
In the midst of one of the most
violent storm fronts of any winter in
recent memory, tens of thousands of
active travelers braved the elements to
attend Adventures in Travel Expo in New
York's Jacob Javits Convention Center
this weekend.
Yes, actual Tornado Warnings were
posted for the Tri-State area including
New York, Connecticut and New Jersey.
And worse yet, they were timed for the
very start of our show!
I can't say we were not concerned
about attendance Saturday Morning, but
the NY Traveling Public never wavered
and made the trip to the Javits.
Perhaps it was the television
coverage that started each morning at
5:00am when four out of five of
the "big" NY TV stations ran live
feeds from our show floor for their
morning and evening news
programs. Perhaps it was the
remarkable reach of our partner the New
York Post, or our 400+ radio
spots. But, by noon the aisles
were jammed with what we believe is the
most qualified audience of high
spending travelers ever assembled in
the United States. And
Sunday was busy ALL day - from open to
close.
While we still have not had a chance
to verify attendance and tabulate
surveys, a quick glance shows us that
the demographics of these tens of
thousands of attendees was through the
roof. I know a pile of surveys I
looked at showed a majority of $100,000
income households spend $10,000+
annually on travel.
Exhibitors had a great Show, with
many expressing they had met the best
attendees ever at any travel
event. Many sold multiple trips
right from their booths. Others
expressed delight with the travel
agents and diverse Press they met on
ALL THREE DAYS of the event.
So, do people buy travel in the
midst of a tornado warning?
They do at Adventures in Travel
Expo!
Next up, LA and DC. Check us
