North Americans Captured by African Game School Experience

Sondela Nature Reserve has something for everyone

"Konga imvelo", means "take care of nature" in both Zulu and Swazi. Many North Americans long to take care of nature, but are unaware that there are still peaceful, endless plains and blue skies to be experienced in our busy, high-speed world.  It does still exist and is possible for those seeking peace, adventure or education to find it through experiencing the magic of SondŽla Nature Reserve in South Africa.

Recently this highly accredited Game Capture School has extended their course availability to North America. Accredited by the University of Pretoria, these courses are also approved by the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association for Continuing Education credits. They hold their courses at different locations but their main site is SondŽla. Situated near the town of Bela Bela, SondŽla collaborates with the University of Pretoria, South African SPCA, and the Game Capture School. SondŽla - translated means, "Come Closer". True to it's meaning, the reserve draws you in with it stunning surroundings, abundant game viewing and stylish living quarters.

"This school is not just for conservationists, zoo personnel, animal handlers, and game capturers. We want to invite the general public to experience this opportunity as well," says Petronel Nieuwoudt, Managing Director of the Game Capture School.

The Game Capture School offers two courses in African wildlife conservation and management. These courses have been compiled to suit the needs of conservation-minded people whether professional or amateur. A typical day includes animal capture activities, campfires and of course, a nice hot shower. Meals, lectures and notes are included.

"The courses will be presented by veterinarians that are experts in this field," Nieuwoudt added. "It is wonderful that they are prepared to share their wealth of knowledge for the ultimate benefit of species worldwide."

From trail hiking to bush walks, there is no shortage of thrills. There is even a farmyard for children.
