Genesis
Initiative Uganda was founded in 2003 by a
team of well experienced women and men of
integrity with wide exposure in
environmental and development
matters.
Mrs
Vanessa Ngango, the Managing Director has
over ten (years) management experience,
with about three (3) years as General
Manager of Namirembe Guest House Ltd. Her
management background and experience with
tour and travel and marketing with the
Guest House, which is part of Namirembe
Diocese of the Great Anglican Church of
Uganda coupled with her impeccable
integrity makes her the best choice for
heading this project.
With
the initial success and experience gained
in the last three years at the first demo
site of the project located at Nsube
Mukono, just 21 kms from Kampala city, and
2 kms off Mukono Town, the project
promoters are very confident and are
seeking to extend the success story to the
entire district.
The
area has been selected due to the current
threat to its rich ecosystem due to rapid
urbanization in the area and the expansion
of Kampala City to Mukono
District.
The
area is also near enough for supervision
and will be accessible to all those
interested in volunteering with practical
help.
