AWARDS

Colleague,
The Pacific Asia Travel
Association (PATA) rewards industry stakeholders
who have made outstanding contributions to
responsibly develop and successfully promote travel
and tourism within Asia Pacific.
Less than five weeks
remain for stakeholders in Asia Pacific travel and
tourism to submit their entries to this year's PATA
Gold Awards programme, which is open to both PATA
members and non-members until April
30.
As you have participated
or shown interest in the programme before, I would
like to personally encourage you to participate in

Judged by panels of
experts, PATA Gold Awards 2007 will recognise
exceptional achievement in six broad
categories:-
1) Marketing Campaign
(five Gold Awards and one Grand
Award)
2) Environment (three Gold
Awards and one Grand Award)
3) Heritage & Culture
(two Gold Awards and one Grand
Award)
4) Education &
Training (one Gold Award and one Grand
Award)
5) Marketing Media (nine
Gold Awards)
6) Travel Journalism (four
Gold Awards)
In total, PATA will
present up to 24 PATA Gold Awards and four elite
PATA Grand Awards at a special September 28 lunch
at Grand Bali Hyatt, Indonesia, during PATA Travel
Mart 2007.
If you are among the
winners, highlights of your winning entry will be
on display at the Mart for delegates to enjoy. It
will also be featured in the 'Winners' Showcase'
souvenir booklet.
You will also attract
invaluable travel trade media coverage via PATA
press releases and will be entitled to leverage the
prestigious PATA Gold Awards 2007 logo on your Web
site and collateral.

(ATA) President and Zambia Minister of Tourism,
Environment and Natural Resources HE Kabinga Pande
signed a Statement of Intent, October 5, at the
Third Global Summit on Peace Through Tourism in
Pattaya, Thailand. The Statement indicates ATA's
and PATA's intention to more fully co-operate, with
the view to concluding a memorandum of
understanding at a future date.
