Centre for
Tourism Research in Africa (CETRA) Dear
Colleagues, About six months ago we
contacted you to inform you about the establishment
of our centre and our interest to maintain contact
with tourism-research oriented academics and
organisations. The response was most encouraging
and helped us take-off as a centre. We held a very
fruitful international conference in October
linking tourism researchers in Southern
Africa. We started research in the
area of ìdomestic / townshipî tourism,
local economic development and tourism promotion,
and small business support in the tourism
sector. We are working on a series
of brief national tourism profiles ñ for
each of the 54 African countries ñ to help
spread a more balanced view about tourism
development across the African continent. In our
efforts to link effectively with other researchers
and institutions we would like to have your contact
details as complete and accurate as possible. Below
you will see the details as we currently have them
on our database. Kindly correct whatever is
incorrect or incomplete and add information if
available with respect to any empty sections
ñ and return this document per e-mail. We
will keep you informed about developments at the
Centre. About your
