President, Wendy Johnson NEW YORK, NY,
USA, February 3, 2003: A tourism delegation,
led by Mrs. Justina Wake, representing Hon. Marina
M. Nsingo, Minister of Tourism, Environment and
Natural Resources, Zambia, has completed its tour
of the USA in a series of travel industry events
and media interviews. The Tourism Ministry was
joined on the coast-to-coast tour by the Zambia
National Tourist Board and Zambia's Private Sector.
Their goal is to promote the Africa Travel
Association (ATA) 28th International Marketing
Congress, May 11 to 16, in Lusaka and Livingstone-
Victoria Falls, Zambia. Heading the delegation was
Mrs. Justina Wake, Director of Planning, Ministry
of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources,
Zambia. She was accompanied by Mr. Stein Liyanda,
Chief Executive, Zambia National Tourist Board, ,
Mr. Cletus Chanda, Marketing Manager, Zambia
National Tourist Board, and Mrs. Joesphine Mehi,
Chief Executive, Tourism Council of
Zambia. Zambia's Tourism
Minister Hon. Marina M. Nsingo extended an official
"worldwide" invitation to the Travel-Tourism
Industry before a large, enthusiastic audience at a
"Gala Night" sponsored by her Ministry. The
occasion was the Africa Travel Association's 6th
Cultural and Ecotourism Symposium in Fes,
Morocco. Four key tourist
generating markets were selected for the advance
tour that was launched to America's travel industry
in Los Angeles on February 4, followed by Atlanta
(February 6 and 7), Washington, DC, ( February 10
and 11) and New York City (February 12 and 13).
