Display Advertising, designed to reach and Influence North American and World Travel Buyers

Our new, enhanced bilingual editions with year round web support, are winners, because "good things come in threes."

(1) By printing in French and English we will attract larger delegations of US, Canadian and Caribbean Travel Agents to attend various ATA events. Many African US and world VIPs, including African Tourism Ministers participate in our activities and ledaders from partner organizations (side column). Our circulation's focus is on 'decision makers' ... people who influence large groups, even entire countries.

(2) The International Year of Ecotourism is ATA's golden opportunity to target highly influential sources, such as World Ecotourism Society members and corporations, by representing Africa at the World Ecotourism Summit in Québec and Earth Summit in Johanessburg. We'll be front and center at Globe 2002 in Vancouver, ASTA Travel Congress and London's World Travel Market. Africa's 1st Peace Through Tourism Conference in South Africa, Best of Africa USA Tour and ATA's 6th Ecotourism Symposium in Morocco, round out our Road Show agenda.

(3) Longer Shelf Life! Africa Travel Magazine givies our readers even more reasons to keep their copies for years to come.

Africa Travel Magazine is now printed in French
and English. What will be the benefits?

By Muguette Goufrani

For starters it's a huge advantage for all advertisers and sponsors. This landmark decision will double our magazine's reach and circulation by appealing to the Francophone Community, represented by 51 member states and governments, of these 28 have French as the official language.

In the window of Alliance Francaise club in Vancouver, a sign proudly announces, "One out of every three Canadians speaks French." That's an important demographic to know when marketing a tourism destination to North Americans. Yet did you realize that almost half of Africa speaks French? Africa Travel Magazine's new expanded format will open the door to many new opportunities in terms of travel, commerce and investment. And, if you were not aware of this important fact, three recent top events are hosted by cities with predominantly Francophone populations. These include the ATA 6th EcoTourism Symposium, Fez. Morocco, December 3-8, 2002..

Worldwide, La Francophonie is an active, positive force, whose members are: Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Canada, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo Democratic Republic, Congo Republic (Zaire), Cote d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Dominica, Egypt, Belgium, Benin, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, France, Gabon, Guadeloupe, Guiana, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Haiti, India (Pondicherry), Italy (Val d'Aoste) Jersey Island, Laos, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Madagascar, Mali, Mayotte, Morocco, Mauritius, Mauritania, Moldava, Monaco, New Caledonia, Niger, Reunion Island, Romania, Rwanda, Saint Lucia, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, St. Pierre & Miquelon, Switzerland, Syria, Tahiti, Tunisia, Wallis & Futuna, Wanuatu, Vietnam, Macedonia, Poland, USA (Louisiana).

About Muguette Goufrani, Associate Publisher, French language features.
