TEAM TANZANIA INCREASES PROFILE AT OUTSIDE TRAVEL EXPO 2004 FEBRUARY 20-22, NAVY PIER, CHICAGO

LARGER EXHIBIT SPACE SHOWCASES TANZANIA: "AUTHENTIC AFRICA - AUTHENTIC ADVENTURE!"

Team Tanzania increased its participation and booth space in the 2004 Outside Travel Expo, February 20-22, at the Navy Pier Convention Center, Chicago. Team Tanzania showcased the country's diverse Adventure Travel product in the delegation's multi-booth display at the Navy Pier.

The Team Tanzania delegation was led by Hon. Philip Marmo, MP, Board Director, Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) and Tanzania Tourist Board's (TTB) Managing Director, Peter J. Mwenguo, included Stephen L. Mallya, NCAA, Assistant Conservator NCAA, Amant C. Macha, Marketing Manager, TTB, and Issa Mlingoti, Director of Marketing, Zanzibar Commission for Tourism.

"Based on the enormous success of the 2003 show," said Peter J. Mwenguo, Tanzania Tourist Board, Managing Director, "Team Tanzania has come back with a larger presence. The number of visitors from the American Market have increased dramatically over the last two years, despite a temporary set back after 9/11. At the Outside Travel Expo, "Destination Tanzania" and Adventure Travel seem to be almost synonymous!"

A special Tanzania evening held at the Chicago City Center Holiday Inn Hotel attracted more than 60 major tour operators and press. "The tour operators at the show who sell East and Southern Africa, have all told us that in the last few months they have experienced a major increase in their bookings to Tanzania, and in fact, it is one of the most favored countries," said Amant Macha, TTB Marketing Manager.
