ETHIOPIA
MILLENNIUM SOUVENIR YEARBOOK EDITION Dear
Colleagues, Africa Travel
Magazine is a powerful, positive, influential media
voice - in
print, online and on air.
We're foremost
in delivering the "good news" about Africa to our
travel, trade and tourism colleagues - a success
record verified by
#1 rankings on
Google, Yahoo and MSN for
many Africa topics. While our
magazine's uplifting message has targeted North
America since 1995, we're also active in Europe,
Asia and the Caribbean. Our creative online
strategy extends Africa Travel Magazine's reach and
frequency. This gives advertisers a 12 month bonus
and adds extra circulation via free downloads of
complete editions. Another pillar is
our year round appearance at many top travel shows
on four continents. What's more, like National
Geographic, our editors create and design each
issue as a "keeper." That's why it's not uncommon
for ATA exhibits to display and distribute copies
published 5 or more years ago. We keep a large and
varied inventory or magazines in our warehouse for
that purpose. Africa Travel is more than just a
magazine, it's a way of life! Advertising

year exposure on ATA's award winning web site,

Ethiopia's
Tourism and Culture Minister is upbeat on the
future: "Investors are tapping Ethiopia's tourism
potential. Already, four and five star hotels are
currently under construction in Addis Ababa. Since
Eco Cultural Tourism is high on our agenda, eco
lodges and camping sites have been set up in
locations that have stunning sights of natural
beauty, landscape, rare and endemic birds and
animals." H.E. Mohamoud. Dirir., Minister of
Culture & Tourism .
Why
did ATA choose Addis Ababa as the venue for its
World Congress in 2000 and again in 2007? To begin
with, Addis Ababa is Africa's political capital,
home of The African Union and The United Nations
Economic Commission for Africa. More than 95
embassies from all over the world have their
missions in Addis Ababa. This makes the capital of
Ethiopia a city where one finds the highest
concentration of embassies in the world after
Washington DC, New York and London.

"En route
to Ethiopia last May our luggage was weighed down
with copies of Africa Travel Magazine for delegates
to Africa Travel Association's 32nd Annual
Congress. Would you believe the same suitcases were
just as full coming back? The reason? They were
stuffed with books, photos, DVDs and journals on
every aspect of life in Ethiopia - culture,
fashions, transportation, food, travel, tourism,
investment and business opportunities. But we
brought back much more - we renewed friendships
from two previous trips and had the opportunity to
get to know many of the leading lights on the
Ethiopian scene, including the outstanding Minister
of Culture and Tourism." Jerry W. Bird
