Day 1, 2
and 3 05.00hrs
pick up from Lusaka, transfer to Chirundu. Start
your 3 days of canoeing on the Zambezi River.
Whilst paddling down the gentle current of the
river, relax and enjoy watching the game and
wildlife at close quarters. The harmonious
interaction of species is combined with a profound
sense of peace and serenity. Canoeing distance is
16kms with lunch being served on the river under
the shade. Two days overnight at Island Bush Camp
and the third night at Chongwer River Camp on the
mainland. Dinner served under the African
stars Day 4 and
5 Chongwer
River Camp offers an intimate and unique bush
experience. The camp is on the confluence of the
Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers, with views of the
Muchinga Mountains to the north. Accommodation is
in luxurious chalets over looking the river.
Breakfast and lunch are either served on the banks
of the Chongwe or the bush overlooking the Zambezi
River. A normal day consists of early morning
activities followed by a brunch and then time to
rest during the heat of the day. After high tea
guests will then go out for their afternoon and
evening activities before dinner. Boat cruises,
fishing and game walks can also be
arranged. Day 6
Morning
game drive then transfer to Royal Airstrip for
flight to Mfuwe via Lusaka. Kapani is a beautiful,
permanent lodge, situated on one of the many ox-bow
lagoons in the South Luangwa. Accommodation
consists of eight standard suites and two new
Lagoon Houses, 20 beds all in all. The brick
chalets have thatched roofs, spacious living areas,
luxurious interiors and walk-in mosquito nets. The
Lagoon Houses offer more spacious rooms, private
views and elegant furniture. It is the ideal place
for people to spend their first night in Africa,
before moving on to the more rustic bushcamps.
There is a main chitenge with a bar and lounge
area. An afternoon game drive with sundowners by
the bank of the Luangwa can be arranged. Day 7
Breakfast
then a game drive transfer to Nsolo Bush Camp.
Nsolo has 4 spacious canvas roofed chalets built on
raised wooden decks with reed walls and en-suite
bathrooms. Each chalet is set under the shade of
large evergreen trees with private verandahs
overlooking the surrounding bush. There is a
thatched chitenje with bar and dining offering a
peaceful refuge where guests can study the camps
collection of books or view a variety of game at
the waterhole. The walking safaris from camp to
camp are not strenuous and are conducted at a pace
determined by the guests but usually last 3 to 4
hours, walking out of one camp early in the morning
and arriving at the next for brunch to find your
bags already waiting for you. A fully qualified
guide and armed game scout lead the
safaris. Day 8
Tea and
coffee in the morning before starting off on
another exciting walk to Kakuli Bush Camp, a
stunning camp situated on the banks of the Luangwa
River. Walks and drives from here never fail to
produce wonderful game viewing. Accommodation is in
five spacious tents with en suite facilities,
overlooking the river, under a shady thatch roof.
The camp is on a raised ridge allowing extensive
views of the Luangwa for up to a mile. Several
hundred hippo live in this stretch of the
river Day 9
Combination
of walks and game drive will bring you to Mchenja
Bush Camp, your home for the last night in the Bush
Camps. The camp lies hidden in a shady grove of
age-old ebony trees on the banks of the Luangwa
River. It is a picturesque site with
expansive views of the river. The camp has
five comfortable thatched huts with en-suite
facilities. A grass hide close to camp over-looks a
deep lagoon providing secretive and close up views
of a variety of animals. Mchenja offers
uninterrupted views; game drives as well as
walks. Day
10 Morning
game-drive then transfer back to Kapani for the
last night. Situated on one of the many
ox-bow lagoons in the South Luangwa.
Accommodation consists of eight standard suites and
two new lagoon Houses, 20 beds all in all. The

areas, luxurious interiors and walk-in mosquito
nets. The Lagoon Houses offer more spacious rooms,
private views and elegant furniture. It is the
ideal place for people to spend their first night
in Africa, before moving on to the more rustic

11 Optional
game drive before you transfer to Mfuwe Airport to
connect onto your onward flight. Day
1 Arrive at
Lusaka International Airport. Meet and greet by a
representative of Alendo, then escorted to the
domestic departure lounge for your flight to Mfuwe
International airport. You will be met and
transferred to Mfuwe Lodge. Mfuwe Lodge
is a unique lodge in the South Luangwa National
Park with 18 luxury en-suite thatched chalets, each
with a private decking area that overlooks a lagoon
that attracts abundant wildlife and game from the
African bush. The lodge
also has an open boma for dinners under starlit
African skies and earnest talk around the campfire.
Activities from the lodge include, day and night
game drives; lion and leopard are often seen. The
lodge offers walking safaris for closer contact
with the game and exception bird watching; night
drive; dinner and overnight at Mfuwe
Lodge. Day 2 and
3 Game drive
transfer to Chamilandu. Spend the first 2 nights of
your Luangwa Encounter, at Chamilandu exploring the
ebony groves and ox bow lagoons. Chamilandu bush
camp offers the connoisseur comfort class and
beauty in one of the Luangwa's prime river
venues. Open to a
180 visits, the front of each tree house chalet
provides the exiting frame for all of Luangwa
Valley diversity. Subtle decor adorns the
two-meters high tree house. The tasteful blend of
wrought iron and brass offsets the cream and
pastels that welcome you to rest and
relax. A series of
seven ox bow lagoons yield dramatic habitat changes
and attract an abundant of wildlife. Day 4 and
5 After an
early breakfast at Chamilandu, set off on your
walking trail to Chindeni, arriving in time for a
hearty brunch. Spend 2
nights at Chindeni viewing the game from your own
private raised wooden decking over the still waters
of the lagoon and exploring the evergreen forests
on foot. Surrounded by majestic hills, shaded by
ancient ebonies and nettled on the apex of an
ox-bow lagoon, Chindeni helps weave the spell that
is Africa. Chindeni
will stand proud in the memory as a place of
magic. Day 6 and
7 Walking
south once more, towards the confluence of the
Kapamba and Luangwa rivers, Bilimungwe bush camp
holds the destination of being the southern most
camp in the National park. It offers
not only the solitude you have come to enjoy, but
also the ideal opportunity to discover yet another
foe of the Luangwa Valley, exploring on foot or in
a vehicle. Bilimungwe's
permanent water hole is a venue for wildlife and
the shallow clear Kapamba River offers the perfect
settings to cool down, relax and reflect on the
Luangwa encounter that you have just
experienced. Day
8 Return back
on a game drive to Mfuwe for a night relaxing in
the luxury that is renowned with Mfuwe Lodge. Mfuwe
lodge sits poised like an island paradise between
two affluent lagoons affording constant spectacular
game viewing. Together with the extensive network
of winding game loops at your disposal and the high
standards of the lodge, Mfuwe lodge completes the
Safari experience of a lifetime. Day 9,10
and 11 Return
transfer back to Mfuwe international airport for
your flight to the Lower Zambezi National Park. Met
by a guide from Sausage Tree Camp with
refreshments, then onto an hour and half game drive
transfer to the camp. Accommodation
is in six luxurious white Bedouin style tents,
dotted discreetly along the riverbank. Each tent
has a private open-air en-suite bathroom, which has
become a distinct trademark for this
renowned-tented safari camp. From the look with a
view to the steaming hot shower to honeymoon tent
which offers a bathtub worth marrying
for! With the
Zambezi Escarpment as a backdrop and natural
barrier, this area is certainly one of Africa's
best secrets. Because of its remoteness, layout and
decor, Sausage Tree Camp offers a fantastic
combination of luxury, wilderness, river and safari
activities. Day 12, 13
and 14 Transfer
back to Jeki airstrip for flight to Livingstone
Airport via Lusaka. You will be met and transferred
to Tongabezi Lodge. The lodge is set in a secluded
tranquil glove of Africa ebony trees on the banks
of the Zambezi River, upstream from Victoria Falls,
Zambia with an emphasis on romance and highly
personalised service. Accommodation
is in five luxury cottages and four specious open
thatched houses. All rooms have magnificent views
of the river and a private veranda. All rooms have
ensuite bathrooms, flush loos with views and
running hot and cold water. Victoria
Falls is the center of a hive of activities from
Crafts Markets to more adventurous sports. The
Falls themselves offer the most spectacular views
and are a must for the photographer. A wide range
of activities include Bungee jumping on the railway
bridge, flight of angels over the falls by light
aircraft, microlight or helicopter, white water
rafting, Canoeing safaris, Game drives in
Musi-oa-tunya National Park to give you a chance to
view Zambia's only White rhino
population. Day
15 Transfer to
Livingstone Airport for flight back to Lusaka for
onward destination. You can not
