FREIGHTERS Besides using the belly space of SAA's passenger aircraft, SAA Cargo also have B737 freighters for the domestic market.
SAA CARGO'S FACILITIES To ensure efficient movement of cargo, SAA Cargo has upgraded all it's facilities in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth. The upgrade has included the introduction of a racking and bar-coding system as well as a Rapid Application Development System, SAFRON. SAFRON will facilitate efficient recording and tracing of cargo and will focus on improved customer and product services. SAA Cargo's facilities feature Cool Rooms and Safe (Security) Rooms to ensure that cargo is stored in ideal conditions. Cool Room facilities ensure that other sensitive perishable goods are stored in an environment of between 0°C and 4°C. DRIVING FORCES BEHIND SAA CARGO SAA Cargo has introduced a customer loyalty programme named Frequent Freighter which rewards frequent shippers for shipping their cargo on the services of South African Airways Cargo. This programme is a world first, with meaningful rewards including free and discounted travel on SAA. You as frequent customers receive lucrative rewards just by using the services of SAA Cargo - the more cargo you ship the more rewards you earn! |
