From my earliest experiences with rugged bush pilots in the far Yukon, to service in the Royal Canadian Air Force and close partnership with Transport Canada's vast Airport Network, flying has been in my blood. For over 20 years, I have flown to gateways across Africa. This year 2017, the joy of flying to  Rwanda  “The Land of  Thousands Islands" with the Africa Travel Association and my partner Muguette Goufrani is coupled with a challenging Mission: to showcase Rwanda' s varied Tourism menu for thousand readers and website viewers worldwide.  Rwanda is no ordinary safari destination. There is more to this tiny nation than magical mountain gorillas. The shores of lake Kivu conceal some of the best inland beaches on the continent. Deep in the southwest, Park National Nyungwe Forest is the most montane rainforest in the region and home to many primates. Whether you are looking for adventure, cultural, historical sites or history, the Remarkable Rwanda stunning landscapes, vibrant cities, attractive beaches, lakes, mountains and  an extremely rich wildlife reserve will seduce you. A country of "Thousand Islands” to suit every budget.  Jerry W. Bird
